Sites represent the physical location where shipments are picked up by carriers. WorldLink will either be configured to allow only one possible Site or it will be configured to allow multiple Sites. Select this menu option to configure the Sites used by your business for shipping. The number of Sites will depend on the license purchased for your business.
Selecting [Configuration | Sites] from the menu will bring up the sites search criteria window, allowing you to enter search criteria. Enter your criteria or leave the Search For field blank to return all sites. The sites window will open showing a summary of the Site information.
WorldLink is configured with one Site by default. Edit the default Site for your business. Create a Site for each physical location where carriers pick up packages for delivery.
Available functions are:
Add - Click on the Add button to add a new Site. The user will be presented with a Site Dialog screen.
Edit - Click on the Edit button to modify an existing Site. The user will be presented with a Site Dialog screen.
Next(100) - Click on this button to display the next 100 site records. This button is only active if there are more than 100 sites in the list.
Prev (100) - Click on this button to display the previous 100 site records. This button is only active if there are more than 100 sites in the list.
WorldLink does not provide a delete function for Sites. This is to preserve the history of shipments made for the Site in question. Instead, if a site is no longer needed, it can be disabled by selecting the disable box on the add/edit site form. Data associated with disabled sites can still be viewed, but you cannot process transactions against disabled sites.
NOTE: If you are configuring another site in its place, please note that full configuration will need to be done for the new site. This includes going to org/site groups and selecting the site for the appropriate groups, or adding a new org/site group if needed.
The Site dialog window is presented whenever a user adds or modifies a site. Information about a site is maintained through this dialog window.
