This topic discusses how you can set up your international shipments during your shipping process. When you are processing shipments going out of the United States, the International button will be activated for you to select your international shipping options.
When you click on the International button, an International Data dialog will be displayed which provides shipping configuration options for shipments going out of the USA.
The General Information section contains common international shipment attributes.
The Term Of Sale drop-down box allows for the setting of INCOTerms . Possible options are Free On Board (FOB), CIF/CIP (Cost, Insurance & Freight/Carriage & Insurance Paid), C&F/CPT (Cost and Freight/Carriage Paid To), Ex Works (EXW), Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU), Delivery Duty Paid (DDP), Split Duty/Vat (DVU) and FCA (Free Carrier).
The AES Filing Status drop-down box allows for indicating the responsibility for filing the Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) and/or the Ocean Manifest. These forms can be loaded directly to U.S. Customs using the Automated Export System. The options available are Carrier or Shipper. Note: All International shipments must be filed with AES directly.
The XTN/ITN Number field contains the ITN Number for shipments whose value is over $2500.
For international shipment under $2500 or that are exempt from filing the EEI, select the FTR Exemption code from the drop down list. Select the Description button to see the description of the selected exemption.
The Currency Type field is used to indicate the currency used in declaring the value of the goods in the shipment.
The Documents checkbox allows for indicating a shipment of documents not greater than one pound.
The Paperless Invoice (UPS only) checkbox allows you to use Paperless Invoicing. This option only applies to UPS shipments. Note: Paperless Invoicing must be activated in Progistics.
The FedEx ETD (FedEx only) option allows you to apply electronic trade documentation generation to FedEx international shipments.
Select the Hardcopy Documentation Included? checkbox if you are using paperless invoice, but need to include hardcopy of other documentation. This option only applies to UPS shipments using Paperless Invoicing.
The Optional Commercial Invoice Settings and Use Alternate Broker sections are currently used solely by Federal Express. Indicate usage of these sections by placing a check in the checkbox next to the respective section name. The data entered in these two sections only appear on the commercial invoice for Federal Express.
The Freight Charge data field allows for the entry of a freight charge associated with the shipment.
The Insurance Charge data field allows for the entry of an insurance charge associated with the shipment.
The Other Charges data field allows for the entry of a charge defined by the Misc. Charges Type field.
The Misc. Charges Type drop-down box allows for setting other types of charges. This field is associated with the Other Charges data field. The option of Other is included in the list in case one of the pre-defined options does not apply.
The Comment Line 1 and Comment Line 2 data fields allow for supplementary text to be included on the commercial invoice.
The Admissibility Package Type drop-down box allows for specifying the type of packaging being used.
The Broker data fields allow for the entry of broker information related to the shipment.
Available functions are:
OK - Click on this button to accept the settings defined for the international shipment.
Cancel - Click on this button to cancel out of the international shipments dialog window and discard changes made.
When re-entering the international shipments dialog window after having accepted changes made, even though the settings in the dialog window are set back to their default values, the previous accepted values are still in place if the cancel button is clicked.
