This section of the WorldLink Online Help Guide is designed to provide solutions to some common problems. This section is geared toward the user that has a computer administrative background or experience in computer administration.
Login Errors
Unable to Create Active X Component - This error generally occurs due to an improper setting in Internet Explorer. Make sure the WorldLink site is listed as a Trusted Site and that all Active X controls and plug-ins are enabled for that trusted site.
Incorrect Password for User - This error can occur if the 'Remember user name and password' check box option is not used. The first attempt at logging in may result in an 'invalid password for user' error. Retry the user name and password.
Shipment Processing Errors
FEDEX Communication Error - This error generally occurs because of a FEDEX service problem on the WorldLink server. Check the status of the FEDEX services and restart them if necessary.
ConnectShip Communication Error - When this error occurs, it is because of a ConnectShip service problem on the WorldLink server. Check the status of the ConnectShip services and restart them if necessary.
Commercial Invoice Does Not Print - This error can occur if a user logged in under an account that is not typically their own.
[x] Service Not Found - This error can occur when attempting to ship using a generic carrier. WorldLink refers to services for generic carriers in terms of G0, G1, G2, etc. When setting up generic carriers, make sure that the services for the generic carrier in the rating engine are changed to match with the WorldLink settings.
[Carrier] Does Not Serve the Select Country - This error can occur if the ShipVia setting in WorldLink is referencing a service code in the rating engine that does not allow service to the package destination country. This can become an issue when dealing with carriers that consider Canada to be separate from International shipments.
Server Scripts Work Once and Do Not Work Next Time, System Provides 'odbc' or Some Database Error - Please make sure that there is only one script group exists in Site/Organization setup and the correct script is selected.
Other Errors
mscomm32.ocx error - Copy the file from some source into the winnt/system32 folder and register the file. Use REGSVR32.EXE to register the file. This file is associated with the Calendar system from Microsoft Outlook.
Under Construction/Not Authorized to View Page - When attempting to go to the WorldLink web-site, a blank or error information web-page is displayed. This can occur when the URL is entered incorrectly; e.g. entered 'HTTP://12.345.678.9' when it should have been 'HTTP://12.345.678.9/WL30'.
