UPS World EaseSM is a contractual service from UPS to do export consolidation. It is available for exports to over 70 countries in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. With this feature, all shipments for a single port of entry are consolidated, resulting in one set of documents to clear customs.
UPS provides a document box (Item #010196002) to hold the documents. The documents required are: master invoice (3 copies), consolidated invoice and certificate of origin. The documents should be placed in the Shipper’s Documentation Pouch (item # 01875614) which is then placed on the outside of the document box. In addition, there is a label for the document box.
There are 2 parts to the labels for World Ease shipments: the top half contains the address label and the lower half contains the over-label. The over-label needs to be placed on top of the address label. The item number for the World Ease label is #01863201.
WorldLink will automatically use World Ease when indicated by the host system. If you need to use World Ease for manual shipments, you will need to take the following additional steps:
1. Select the Use World Ease checkbox on the International Data window.
2. By default, all destinations in the European Union (EU) are treated as a Single Country. If you would like each country to be treated separately, check the Use Single Country within EU checkbox on the International Data window.
3. The importer account number is required when using World Ease. It can be entered on the International Data Window.
To find your World Ease shipments in the manifest, select a manifest (either in Manifest Explorer or Archived Manifests) and select the World Ease button. This button will only be active for UPS.
A window will appear showing all of the World Ease groups. From here you can print labels and reports and view shipment detail.
Special considerations
- Due to the special format of the label, label customization is not possible
- A separate designated label printer is required to handle World Ease shipments
- Extra processing will be required on manifest day
- Reports cannot be customized
- The document box is always box 1, so the first package will be box 2.
- Need port of entry file from UPS (must be attached before opening)
- Recertification may be required for redeployment
