Closing a Manifest

The Manifest Explorer is where you can close all your shipment manifests either for the current shipping day or for a future date.

What you do:

  1. Select a carrier from the drop down list to display all current and future manifests for that carrier in the table below. For those carriers that receive transmitted manifests, the status of those manifests is included in the table.

  2. Select the manifest that you want to close. Note: This will cause certain buttons to gray out (become inactive) and other buttons to darken (become active). The status and type of the manifest chosen dictates the state of the buttons.

  3. Press the Close (F8) button to close the manifest. Closing the manifest prevents any new shipments from being attached to the manifest in question. Closed manifests can be either resumed or posted.

Once  the manifest is closed, you can either:

  1. Click on the Resume (F9) button, which then opens a closed manifest. This function allows new shipments to be attached to the manifest in question.

  2. Click the Post (F10) button and perform functions necessary for the final processing of a manifest. This can include uploading the manifest to the carrier and printing the manifest out to a printer or a file. This function can only be done on a workstation that has a thermal printer connected.  Click here to view the rules for manifest posting.

  3. The Pick Up Rec button prints a pick up label for UPS SPSS and APSS rating engines.
